NFL Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, Week 13: QB Will Levis, RB Jeremy McNichols Among Top Targets
With the NFL regular season approaching its midpoint, fantasy football managers are looking for any edge they can get to improve their playoff chances. The waiver wire can be a great place to find players who can help you fill holes in your lineup or provide depth at key positions.
Here are some of the top targets on the waiver wire heading into Week 13:
Quarterback
Will Levis, Kentucky
Levis has been one of the most impressive quarterbacks in college football this season, and he could be a valuable addition to your fantasy team if he declares for the NFL Draft and is selected by a team that needs a quarterback.
In 11 games this season, Levis has thrown for 2,826 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He has also rushed for 376 yards and four touchdowns. Levis has a strong arm and is a good athlete, making him a potential dual-threat quarterback in the NFL.
Other quarterbacks to consider: Sam Howell, North Carolina; Hendon Hooker, Tennessee; Bryce Young, Alabama
Running Back
Jeremy McNichols, Tennessee Titans
McNichols has been a solid contributor for the Titans this season, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. He has also caught 21 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns.
With Derrick Henry dealing with a foot injury, McNichols could see an increased role in the Titans’ offense. He is a good runner between the tackles and can also catch passes out of the backfield.
Other running backs to consider: Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers; Samaje Perine, Cincinnati Bengals; Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Wide Receiver
Josh Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers
Palmer has emerged as a reliable target for Justin Herbert this season, catching 38 passes for 489 yards and three touchdowns. He has also rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown.
Palmer is a good route runner and has good hands. He is also a willing blocker. With Keenan Allen and Mike Williams both dealing with injuries, Palmer could see an increased role in the Chargers’ offense.
Other wide receivers to consider: Darius Slayton, New York Giants; Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kansas City Chiefs; Donovan Peoples-Jones, Cleveland Browns
Tight End
Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars
Engram has been a disappointment for fantasy owners this season, but he could be worth a look on the waiver wire if you need a tight end.
Engram has caught 46 passes for 404 yards and two touchdowns this season. He is a good athlete and has a good rapport with quarterback Trevor Lawrence. With the Jaguars’ offense struggling, Engram could be due for a breakout game.
Other tight ends to consider: Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals; Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Tyler Conklin, New York Jets
Defense/Special Teams
New York Jets Defense
The Jets’ defense has been one of the most surprising units in the NFL this season. They are currently ranked 10th in the league in points allowed and have forced 16 turnovers.
The Jets have a good pass rush and a solid secondary. They are also good at forcing turnovers. The Jets are a good streaming option for Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Other defenses/special teams to consider: Cincinnati Bengals; Philadelphia Eagles; Buffalo Bills
