Jets WR Davante Adams: ‘It Would Be Dope’ to Catch QB Aaron Rodgers’ 500th Career Passing Touchdown
Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams, now a member of the New York Jets, has expressed his excitement about the possibility of catching quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ 500th career passing touchdown.
A Long-Standing Connection
Adams and Rodgers formed one of the most prolific quarterback-wide receiver duos in NFL history during their time together in Green Bay. Adams led the league in receiving yards twice and receiving touchdowns once while playing with Rodgers. The duo connected for 69 touchdowns in the regular season and playoffs combined.
Rodgers is currently at 490 career passing touchdowns, just 10 away from the prestigious milestone. If he reaches 500 this season, he will become only the fifth quarterback in NFL history to achieve the feat.
Adams’ Eagerness
When asked about the possibility of catching Rodgers’ 500th touchdown, Adams expressed his enthusiasm.
“It would be dope,” Adams said. “It would be a special moment for sure. Obviously, I have a lot of respect for Aaron and everything he’s accomplished in his career. If I’m able to be a part of that, it would be pretty cool.”
Rodgers’ Pursuit of History
Rodgers, now 39 years old, is entering his 18th NFL season. He has shown no signs of slowing down, leading the Packers to the playoffs in each of the past three seasons. With a talented supporting cast around him, including Adams, he is well-positioned to reach the 500-touchdown mark this year.
If Rodgers achieves the milestone, he will join Tom Brady (649), Peyton Manning (539), Drew Brees (571), and Brett Favre (508) as the only quarterbacks in NFL history with 500 or more career passing touchdowns.
A Special Moment for Both Players
For both Adams and Rodgers, catching and throwing the 500th touchdown would be a significant achievement. It would mark a special chapter in their careers and further cement their legacies as one of the greatest quarterback-wide receiver duos of all time.
The Jets open their season on September 11th against the Baltimore Ravens. Rodgers and the Packers begin their campaign on September 12th against the Minnesota Vikings.
